The Pensacola News Journal reports that 27-year-old Markquise Wallace was found guilty Friday of two counts of vehicular homicide and other charges. He faces up to 65 years in prison at a Nov. 25 sentencing.
Prosecutors say Wallace was speeding on a Pensacola street in June 2018 when he hit two women, Nephateria Williams and Quineka Baldwin, and an 8-month old girl in a stroller, Neariaah Williams, as they crossed the road. Nephateria Williams and Neariaah Williams both died, and Baldwin survived.
Wallace fled the area and was arrested more than a month later in Philadelphia, where authorities suspected he had been hiding out with a relative.
