There will only be two seasons of "She's Gotta Have It" on Netflix, but fans of the Spike Lee franchise are hopeful that it could have a life on a different platform.

The streaming service confirmed the news, Entertainment Weekly reported. But some Hollywood watchers expect Lee to see if any other companies pick it up, according to Entertainment Weekly.

"She's Gotta Have It" was an episodic adaptation of Lee's film of the same name and was canceled less than two months after season two premiered. The series first aired in November 2017.

Despite it being a show instead of a feature film, Lee directed all 19 episodes of the series' run. He was also an executive producer with Tonya Lewis Lee, Variety reported.

It starred DeWanda Wise, Anthony Ramos, Ilfenesh Hadera, Cleo Anthony, Lyriq Bent, Margot Bingham, Chyna Layne and Fat Joe.

This isn't the last collaboration between Lee and Netflix. Lee is helming "Da 5 Bloods, a drama that focuses on Vietnam vets and stars Chadwick Boseman and Giancarlo Esposito, Entertainment Weekly reported.

Meanwhile, the subscriber news coming out of Netflix isn't good for the streaming service.

The company had expected to add more than 300,000 subscribers in the last quarter but instead lost more than 100,000, CNBC reported.

Company officials don't believe other streaming services are the reason for the drop in subscribers, CNBC reported. Instead, officials blamed Netflix content as a reason that the number of subscribers didn't grow as expected, the cable news network reported.
