ORLANDO, Fla. - The holiday season is in full swing and we’ve got a lot of festive fun to talk about but we’re going to kick things off with something for all the dog lovers out there.

The American Kennel Club’s Canine Extravaganza is taking over the Orange County Convention Center on Saturday and Sunday. Attendees can meet and play with hundreds of dog breeds, shop the doggie boutique mall, and see canine athletes show off their water diving skills during the North American Diving Dogs competition. The Canine Extravaganza is also home to one of the world’s premiere dog events, the 2017 AKC National Championship, where the nation’s top canine competitors will vie for the coveted Best in Show honor.

Now here’s a holiday tradition that you won’t want to miss. Christmas at Gaylord Palms is celebrating its 15th year here in Central Florida and from larger-than-life ice sculptures to live entertainment, there is plenty to see.

The Cirque Dreams Unwrapped show has never seen before acts & costumes, there's the 12 minute Joyful light show in the atrium around the resort's six-story Christmas Tree and a Sounds of the Season Concert Series featuring a capella concerts from groups like VOCTAVE with a special collaboration between Opera Orlando, Orlando Philharmonic and the Orlando Ballet. Kids can enjoy the fun & interactive Reindeer Express Post Office and the new Build-A-Bear Scavenger Hunt, and that's all before you head into the Alpine Village!

In the Alpine Village you will find ICE! Christmas Around the World, seasonal food offerings, a huge holiday gift shop, the Gingerbread Decorating Corner, Mrs. Claus’ Christmas Traditions, Santa's Snow Throw, Snowtubing, and the Big Man himself. Shelley’s biggest tip is to make a day of Christmas at the Gaylord Palms.

Get up early and head into Villa de Flora for a breakfast with some of your Peanuts Friends or go later and have lunch at Wreckers, because when you spend over $50 at one of the resort's full service restaurants your parking is free. You'll have a great meal & get free parking!
