• Find out the best way to spend your Halloween in the parks in this week's Theme Park Thursday

    By: Shelley Caran

Orlando, Fla. - Since this is the last Thursday before Halloween, I thought that I would take a look at the best Halloween celebrations in the theme parks of Central Florida that we've talked about this month in case you are still looking for the perfect way to spend the spookiest night of the year.

So grab your costume and trick-or-treat pumpkin, because we've got a lot of frightful fun to cover!

Best Halloween celebration for toddlers … SeaWorld Orlando's Halloween Spooktacular

SeaWorld Orlando's Halloween Spooktacular offers guests family fun filled weekends with favorite friends from Sesame Street, Halloween dance parties, as well as the chance for children to show off their Halloween costumes as they trick-or-treating in the park.

The Halloween Spooktacular fun really kicks into high gear when the Trick-or-Treat pathway opens at 11 am and stays open until the park closes, and you can enter the trail from several points in the park but I prefer to start at the 'official' start which can be found near the new Dolphin Nursery which is a great spot to relax for a bit before you hit the trail.

Best Halloween celebration for children … LEGOLAND Florida's Brick or Treat

Brick or Treat at the LEGOLAND Florida Resort is in its sixth year and the weekend celebrations include a special Halloween-themed fireworks spectacular each event date, trick-or-treating in the theme park, exclusive character meet-and-greets, several hands-on LEGO building activities, and giant LEGO models perfect for scary selfies and spooky snapshots.

Just make sure that you wear your Halloween finest, because there are several ways to show-off your costume and even win prizes! Also make sure that you bring your camera, because the park is full of fun photo ops with characters and LEGO models.

You can find even more information about SeaWorld Orlando's Halloween Spooktacular and LEGOLAND Florida's Brick or Treat in the Theme Park Thursday dedicated to Halloween Fun for the younger ghosts in your family.

Best Halloween celebration for teenagers … Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights

You still have time to get lost in the fright of Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights as the event takes place on select nights until November 4th.

Halloween Horror Nights fill the streets of Universal Studios Florida with intricately themed and thrilling haunted mazes, multiple scare zones sure to get your adrenaline pumping with creepy characters around every corner, outrageous live shows, and acclaimed attractions.

You can find out the chilling details on this Theme Park Thursday dedicated to Halloween Horror Nights and Brett's reviews of the mazes using the 'Ghoul Rating Scale' on icFlorida.

Just please do me a favor, and tell the roaming hordes of Chainsaw Clowns that I send my regards. I love those crazy clowns!

Best Halloween celebration for everyone … Walt Disney World's Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

The biggest Halloween celebration in all of the theme parks of Central Florida is Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at the Walt Disney World Resort.

This special after-hours event that transforms the Magic Kingdom into a family-friendly Halloween party with exclusive entertainment, parades, characters, fireworks, treats (but not tricks), shopping, and more while still being able to enjoy most of the park's attractions.

Hands down, this is THE Halloween event for the entire family. I absolutely look forward to this event all year, but the highlight for me is the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular show that happens in front of Cinderella Castle. The show is tons of fun and appeals to a wide variety of Disney film fans as several infamous Disney villains join the Sanderson Sisters as they create their Hocus Pocus Party Potion.

Make sure you check out my Theme Park Thursday dedicated to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party over at the Magic Kingdom for tons of great information and tips for making the most of your night at this event.

Best Halloween celebration on a budget … Halloween at Disney Springs

Walt Disney World's Disney Springs shopping, eating, and entertainment complex is quickly becoming a staple of not only the theme parks, but Orlando and they are continuing to celebrate holidays in a way that only Disney can!

While trick-or-treating is not part of the celebrations during Halloween at Disney Springs, there are plenty of other holiday entertainment options to take in such as a family-friendly DJ Dance Party near Once Upon a Toy, living statues, stilt walkers, and even a Zombie marching band.

And we talked about them in a previous Theme Park Thursday, Disney Springs is full of fantastic fall treats!

Vivoli il Gelato at The Landing in Disney Springs is offering a Pumpkin Mudslide that features their Pumpkin gelato, tiramisu gelato, and crema gelato that is then topped with chocolate sauce and whipped cream.

Sprinkles Cupcakes and Ice Cream in Disney Springs has a Pumpkin Spice Cupcake that is a pumpkin cake laced with fragrant ginger, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, and topped with sweet cinnamon cream cheese frosting.

At the Ganachery in The Landing at Disney Springs chocolate lovers can find Pumpkin Spice Latte Ganache Squares which are chocolate ganache squares elegantly decorated with fall and Halloween-themed designs with pumpkin spice and coffee notes.

Speaking of treats, Disney Springs is also offering craft beers from local and national breweries as well as fall themed food at the kiosks throughout the area. The Disney Parks Blog has even more details about what you can expect to find.

If you are looking to take a perfect family photo, there are four Halloween themed backdrops and PhotoPass photographers roaming Disney Springs with fall-themed props. Walt Disney World Annual Passholders, don't forget that these PhotoPass pictures are included so make sure you bring your card or a magic band for the photographers to scan.

While Disney*Pixar Coco doesn't hit the big screen until November 22nd, Disney Springs just announced that starting this weekend the 'Coco Family Celebration' weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) will fill Exposition Park into a fun fiesta full of festive décor, face-painting, and activities for the entire family. And during the Coco Family Celebration the Springs' Street Tacos Food Truck will be serving up vanilla flan in addition to their signature taco offerings.

Don't forget that parking is free in the garages and lots at Disney Springs and that you can check out all of my Disney Springs tips at the end of this past Theme Park Thursday!

Honorable Mentions of Halloween Experiences around Orlando…

    The Coca-Cola Orlando Eye

From now until November 4, 2017, a not-so-itsy-bitsy 60 ft tall spider is calling the Coca-Cola Orlando Eye home as part of their Spooky Nights and Spider Frights Halloween celebration.

During the celebration the 400-foot tall Coca-Cola Orlando Eye becomes a spider web with giant creepy-crawlies, an all-new light and music show, themed Snapchat filter, and family fun Halloween themed activities.

From the I-Drive 360 courtyard, guests can experience the witching hour as 64,000 LED lights bring the tallest observational wheel on the United States East Coast to life in a kaleidoscopic ten-minute show synchronized to an iconic Halloween soundtrack that is sure to have everyone dancing. The light show will run Sunday through Thursday at 8pm and Friday & Saturday at 8pm and 10pm.

Goblins and ghouls of all ages will be able to take in the sights while riding 400 feet in the air in one of four spooky Halloween-themed capsules. Experience unique views of Orlando surrounded by sneaky spiders, petrified pumpkins, ghoulish ghosts, or frightening fall decorations.
