Orlando, Fla. - Every fall the walkways and theaters of SeaWorld Orlando are filled with Halloween treats, not tricks, during the park's family-friendly Halloween celebration that happens only on Saturdays & Sundays, September 23- October 29, 2017.
The Orlando theme parks have really embraced Halloween events, and I thought I would answer some question you might have about Halloween Spooktacular!
What makes Halloween Spooktacular a unique Halloween Event?
Halloween Spooktacular really stands apart from the other events here in Orlando, because it is really focused on younger children and toddlers with characters they know and games & activities that are fun but not overwhelming.
Can you wear costumes to Halloween Spooktacular at SeaWorld Orlando?
Yes, but there are some guidelines that guests must take into consideration.
All guests are welcome to dress up in costumes, although only those 12 and younger are allowed to wear masks. Guests who are ages 13 and older may not wear masks or hoods in the park, and all costumes are subject to the normal dress code for the park. In addition, face painting is not permitted on any guests unless it is done by park artists.
What are some of the highlights of Halloween Spooktacular?
Halloween Spooktacular boasts several event specific entertainment and activities, and here are the ones you won't want to miss:
Celebrate a Spooktacular Halloween at SeaWorld with The Count, Elmo, Abby, and the rest of their Sesame Street friends during the Sesame Stree's Countdown to Halloween show in the Seaport Theater. The Count is feeling lonely this Halloween, and it’s up to the loveable monsters from Sesame Street to get him into the Halloween spirit. Batty bats and spooky skeletons join the fun in a song-filled stage show that invites guests to dance, play and sing along.
At Penelope’s Garden Party you will find yourself below the waves and in a dynamic environment that has come to life with a live DJ, bubbles floating overhead, unique photo opportunities, and colorful sea-themed characters including a mermaid in her grotto.
Also at the Seaport Theater you can find Pets Ahoy Halloween, which is a special Halloween version of this side-splitting show with surprise twists and a cast of unlikely characters that will have the whole family laughing from beginning to end.
Are there any signature add-on experiences to Halloween Spooktacular?
There are several ways that you can affordably add-on to your day at SeaWorld's Halloween Spooktacular, and there are two options that I really suggest giving a try.
Count von Count’s Spooktacular Breakfast has returned! Count von Count’s Spooktacular Breakfast features a delicious buffet with some familiar Sesame Street friends that is fun for the entire family. Pricing starts at $9.99 for kids and $19.99 for adults reservations can be made online, at the Information Counter, or by calling (407) 545-5550. If you are a SeaWorld Annual Passholder, make sure to check for a discount on the experience.
If your little ones love playing the games at the park, you might want to look into the Spooky Game Pass. The Spooky Game Pass offers guests the opportunity to play 5 of the Halloween Spooktacular themed games for the price of 4. The Spooky Game Pass costs $20 and must be bought in advance online on the SeaWorld Orlando Website.
Do you have any trick-or-treating tips?
The trick-or-treat trail opens at 11 am and is open until the park closes, and you can enter the trail from several points in the park but I prefer to start at the 'official' start which can be found near the new Dolphin Nursery so you can get wrapped up in the hoopla.
As you are approaching a trick-or-treat stop make sure you look at which way to enter the candy queue and to see what kind of candy is being distributed at each station.
What makes Halloween Spooktacular a great value?
The Halloween Spooktacular festivities are included with you admission to SeaWorld Orlando, and for a limited time if you purchase an Annual Pass in full you will receive 3 months free.
Halloween Spooktacular at SeaWorld Orlando is absolutely my top Halloween event choice for families with younger children and toddlers, but with so many great coasters and attractions children of all ages will also enjoy their day at SeaWorld Orlando. My daughter is 11 years old, and she loves the fact that she can trick-or-treat and then hop on Mako!
