For the 14th consecutive year, Ron Jon Surf Shop Cocoa Beach will donate a percentage of its Saturday, October 14 sales to the United Way of Brevard County.
“The funds raised on October 14th will assist United Way of Brevard with providing services to those in need here in Brevard County,” said Debbie Harvey, Ron Jon Surf Shop President and COO. “United Way of Brevard recently started a Hurricane Irma Relief fund to assist local Space Coast residents affected by the storm and we are requesting that our United Way sales day funds raised this year be dedicated to this hurricane relief fund.”
Since first participating in the United Way of Brevard County’s “Make a Difference Day” in 1998, Ron Jon Surf Shop has raised nearly $771,120 from employee contributions and sales days to benefit the charity. This year, Ron Jon Surf Shop anticipates that more than 75 percent of its staff will support its annual United Way campaign.
“Thanks to the steadfast commitment of Ron Jon, we are able to not only provide a safety net of critical services for those in need, but also focus our work to fight for the health, education and financial stability of our most vulnerable families in Brevard,” said Rob Rains, United Way of Brevard President.
