Halloween hasn't even arrived yet, but the Gaylord Palms Resort in Kissimmee has welcomed 40 ice artisans from Harbin, China, who will be creating this 20,000 square-foot wonderland out of 2 million pounds of ice.

The artisans were greeted by members of the resort's staff and a few familiar faces! Charlie, Snoopy, and Lucy were part of the celebration, because they and their friends will be part of the Christmas fun at the Gaylord Palms.

Don your parka, gloves, and hat to see ICE! Featuring A Charlie Brown Christmas by Charles Schultz which will allow guests to follow along as Charlie Brown rediscovers the true meaning of Christmas as the beloved classic story unfolds through interactive ice sculptures and displays. Experience the Peanuts gang in iconic scenes including their holiday play rehearsal, Snoopy's decorated doghouse, and Charlie Brown choosing the perfect Christmas tree in 9 degrees of chilly fun.

After the welcoming ceremony, we were some of the first people to head inside the tent to get a peek at the construction. It was really cool to get a behind-the-scenes look at how this attraction takes shape!

This year's Christmas at Gaylord Palms will feature several new holiday events such as Mrs. Claus' Holiday Traditions show, Santa's Snow Throw where you can throw REAL snowballs, a new 60' Christmas Tree with dancing LED lights, Breakfast with Charlie Brown and Friends, and an all-new Cirque Dreams Unwrapped. There will also be returning favorites with a new twist! The Elf on the Shelf® Scavenger Hunt will have new prizes, you can decorated your own 'ugly Christmas sweater' in the Gingerbread Decorating Corner, get an ICE! Parka at the Build-A-Bear Workshop, have cosmic ride as you rush down the Alpine Rush slides, and take a picture with the big man himself.

Christmas at the Gaylord Palms takes place November 18, 2016 – January 1, 2017, and we'll be bringing you more information about this iconic Orlando Christmas event and additions to the resort in upcoming weeks.
